PART 2: RESOURCES

Liberate your Wholeself

The single, most powerful thing you can do to survive and thrive in an impossible world is to be yourself.

To be yourself requires you to be your wholeself. All that you are and can be. Not the 'you' that life has chipped away at, limiting your beliefs about yourself, leaving you anxious and confused. Liberate all the resources available within yourself.

This journey of recovery, rediscovery and reinvention is the most exciting one you can take.

Watch part two

Liberate your Wholeself

The truth is: we are contradictory, diverse individuals.

We, as the poet Walt Whitman said, "contain multitudes". We are motivated in rich and deep ways to want many things, all of which contribute to our wellbeing and the wellbeing of the people we care about.

And it is this richness of motivations that make up the whole of who we are, and from which we can develop strengths, skills and resources to flourish in a difficult world.

DON'T COUNT ME IN (HEY DJ)

Music and lyrics by Steve Bonham.

STORY OF THE SONG

"Don't count me in" is a plea to not always do what is expected of us. It's an invitation to explore who we might be, before signing up to what's on offer!

Hey DJ, keep on playing my song
The one about fool who got it all wrong
But don't count me in
Too much that I do, I do it out of habit
Gonna push back from the person I inhabit
Don't count me in. Uh-huh, don't count me in.

There’s a cat over there, he’s looking kinda mean
Wants me to follow him but this is not my scene
Don't count me in
I’m a soldier and a mystic, a baker and a thief
I can be a carpenter, that is my belief
Don't count me in. Uh-huh, don't count me in.

I was afraid I was losing
The will to walk away
Looking for a way to stay
And let it ride
Got myself into the cold air
Before the bell of closing time
Left the scene of the crime
And no one died

Living on soul food, I can’t pay the rent
Gonna keep on burning all those letters that they sent
Don’t count me in
Let me dance on solid air, let me dine on dreams
Open up Pandora’s box, take it to extremes
Don't count me in. Uh-huh, don't count me in.

One thing is certain, the best will be recovered
I don't know who I am, but I will be discovered
Don’t count me in
Don’t want a sad guru to guide my evolution
Got to get on home to start my revolution
Don't count me in. Uh-huh, don't count me in.
